With an outside entrance, La Loma Studio creates a quiet oasis. Entering this spacious, first floor studio you are greeted with Taos charm, pine wood floors, handcrafted furniture with tin trim, a subtle color scheme with accents of quintessential Taos-blue and thick adobe walls dating to 1790’s.
Taos artist David Vedoe’s murals take you back in time as if looking toward the Capilla de San Antonio La Loma of 1800, which still stands in the north corner of the residential Plaza. David brings the lush gardens of the Inn into the studio space with lovely floral murals.
A step-up landing with viga ceiling and hand carved corbels frame the sleeping area. For extra guests, the leather sofa in front of the kiva fireplace opens into a queen bed with innerspring mattress.
While Taos has many excellent restaurants, should you opt for a night in, the fully equipped kitchenette has a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, sink, and tableware. The table and chair area makes for a central place for food, fun, family, or work.
The bathroom has a tub/shower combination and is accented with decorative tin and Taos-blue Mexican tiles. This room includes air conditioning, Keurig coffee/tea service, and TV with VCR/DVD.
Enjoy the rocking chairs in the breezeway outside the front door, or a private moment in the quaint enclosed patio adjacent to your bedroom. La Loma Studio is well equipped for longer stays, and offers the option to connect with Georgia’s Garden Room to make the two-room La Loma Plaza suite.
